Project Overview
Startup Project started from scratch. Based on research in the domain of sport application, I developed an original concept, that I later designed, tested and presented. The project is still ongoing and implied team work and strategic planning.
The Challenge
The world of sport applications is crowded with solutions that focus on individual performance tracking, but fewer options enable true social connections through sports. Our challenge was to create a platform that would encourage people to be more physically active by making sports more social and accessible.
Research Phase
I conducted extensive market research and user interviews to understand:
- How people currently find sports partners and activities
- Pain points in organizing sports activities with friends or strangers
- Features that would encourage regular participation
- Social dynamics that could be leveraged to improve user engagement
Solution & Design Process
Based on our research findings, we developed Swtco - a social sports platform that connects people through shared athletic interests. The app allows users to:
- Find sport partners based on skill level, location, and availability
- Create and join local sports events
- Track and share their sports activities
- Build communities around specific sports or fitness goals
Role & Responsibilities
As the founder and UX lead, I was responsible for:
- Conceptualizing the product vision
- Conducting user research and competitor analysis
- Creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
- Leading usability testing sessions
- Collaborating with developers on implementation
- Pitching to investors and stakeholders
Results & Impact
The project is still in development, but initial user testing has shown promising results:
- 95% of test users found the interface intuitive and easy to navigate
- 87% expressed interest in using the app regularly
- Key feature requests have been incorporated into the development roadmap
Learnings
This project has taught me valuable lessons about startup development, user-centered design processes, and the importance of continuous testing and iteration. I've gained deeper insights into designing social experiences that motivate behavioral change.
